Why do pros use rapid trigger keyboards?

Rapid trigger keyboards let a key activate and reset the instant it moves, instead of waiting for a fixed switch point. In tactical shooters, that means faster counter-strafing and quicker stops.

The leading boards from Wooting, Razer and SteelSeries all advertise rapid trigger with adjustable actuation, according to their makers:

• Wooting lists Hall-effect switches and Rapid Trigger, which resets and activates keys "the instant you move", on the 60HE v2, 80HE and 60HE+, and its 60HE+ page offers per-key actuation in 0.1 mm steps.
• Razer lists analog optical switches on the Huntsman V3 Pro Tenkeyless, with a 0.1 to 4.0 mm adjustable actuation range and Rapid Trigger reset as low as 0.1 mm.
• SteelSeries describes redesigned Hall Effect switches on the Apex Pro Gen 3, with Rapid Trigger and actuation adjustable from 0.1 to 4.0 mm.
