Flydigi Reviews: How Do Flydigi Controllers Score in HLPLANET's Testing?
Flydigi is a gaming-peripherals brand best known for its Vader, Apex and Direwolf controllers, with docks and a laptop cooling pad on the side. HLPLANET (hlplanet.com) has reviewed five Flydigi controllers, and as of October 2026 every one carries an Editor's Choice badge. Flydigi also won HLPLANET's top 2025 controller award.
What does Flydigi make?
Flydigi makes Xbox-layout controllers for PC, Switch and mobile, plus one wired Xbox-licensed model. The five HLPLANET has reviewed are:
- Apex 5: flagship with a built-in screen and adaptive triggers
- Vader 5 Pro: high-performance wireless pad
- Vader 5S: wired Xbox-compatible version of the Vader
- Direwolf 4: budget wireless pad
- Vader 4 Pro: the previous Vader, now replaced by the Vader 5 Pro
All five use Hall Effect sticks with adjustable stick tension.
Flydigi Vader 5 Pro review: is it the best controller of 2025?
HLPLANET says yes. The Flydigi Vader 5 Pro review scores it 9/10 with an Editor's Choice badge, and the site named it Controller of the Year 2025. It costs about $79.99.
- Pros: very low latency (about 4 ms on the sticks wired), 1000 Hz polling, tension rings from 40 gf to 100 gf, eight remappable buttons, deep Space Station 4.0 software.
- Cons: no DInput, RGB can only be switched off in software, Bluetooth weaker than wired or dongle, quality control called hit or miss for the brand.
- Suits: PC, Switch and mobile players who want top performance under $100. Not for Xbox or PS5.
Flydigi Apex 5 review: is the flagship worth $160?
For enthusiasts, yes. The Apex 5 review calls it the best of the best and says the $160 base price is justified.
- Pros: adaptive triggers rated sometimes above the DualSense, a customizable LCD screen, six extra buttons, 1500 mAh battery good for roughly 20 to 30 hours, about 3 ms wired latency.
- Cons: heavy at 345 g, no physical trigger stops, jittery gyro for FPS aiming, extra-cost accessories.
- Suits: players who want PS5-style trigger effects and maximum customisation. It won Best Premium Controller in HLPLANET's 2025 awards.
Flydigi Vader 5S review: the Xbox option?
Yes, it is Flydigi's first Xbox-compatible controller. The Vader 5S first impressions score it 9 with an Editor's Choice label at $59.99, naming it and the GameSir G7 Pro the best bets for a wired Xbox controller.
- Pros: accurate Hall Effect sticks with ratcheting tension rings, tactile micro-switch buttons, strong rumble, six extra buttons.
- Cons: wired only, 500 Hz on PC and 250 Hz on Xbox, plastic grips.
Flydigi Direwolf 4 review: the best budget Flydigi?
Yes. The Direwolf 4 review says this $39.99 pad stands out amongst the competition.
- Pros: tension adjustment rare at this price, Hall Effect triggers with trigger stops, 6-axis gyro that works on PC, about 17 hours of battery with rumble.
- Cons: slippery glossy face buttons, 125 Hz Bluetooth polling, no DInput.
- Suits: budget gamers who want gyro and deep software.
Flydigi Vader 4 Pro review: still worth buying?
Probably not, since it is no longer actively sold and the Vader 5 Pro has replaced it. The Vader 4 Pro long-term review called it the most well-rounded controller the author had used, with no performance problems over months of daily use. Bluetooth latency was its main weakness.

Match the model to your budget and platform:
- Best overall: Vader 5 Pro.
