Analytics

The Project Analytics feature helps you monitor and understand how users are interacting with your documentation. It provides detailed insights including user activity, content engagement, AI-powered search usage, and feedback collected per documentation section.


1. Accessing Analytics

To access Project Analytics:

  • Navigate to your Project Dashboard.
  • Select the Analytics tab from the top navigation menu.

📌 Note: Analytics is available for all published documentation projects.


2. Overview of Analytics Metrics

The Analytics section is divided into several key metrics:

a. Users

  • Displays the total number of unique users who accessed the documentation.

b. Sessions

  • Represents the total number of individual user sessions (including repeat visits).

c. Page Views

  • Counts how many times documentation pages were viewed.

3. AI Search Questions

This section shows all AI-powered search queries made by users within your documentation.

Key Features:

  • View the exact questions users are asking via the search bar.
  • Gain insight into what users are looking for and how well your documentation answers their queries.
  • Helps identify gaps or opportunities to improve content based on real search behavior.

4. Feedback Polling

Feedback analytics offer qualitative insights directly from users through documentation feedback prompts.

Includes:

  • Section-specific feedback (e.g., thumbs up/down, comments).
  • Identifies which sections are helpful or need improvement.
  • Can be used to track sentiment trends over time.

5. Filters & Breakdown

To explore data more deeply:

  • Use the date range filter to focus on specific time periods.
  • Use the page filter dropdown to analyze data per documentation page or section.

6. Use Cases & Benefits

  • Improve Content: Spot which pages or sections have high activity or low feedback ratings.
  • Identify Gaps: Analyze AI search questions to find missing or unclear information.
  • Track Engagement: Understand how often your documentation is accessed and how users interact with it.
